LEARNING BY DOING
>Students will have the opportunity to participate in:
- Business games: business games are simulations that replicate real-world business scenarios, allowing students to make decisions, analyse outcomes, and learn from bothsuccesses and failures.
- Workshops on current business issues : the MSc Corporate Finance focuses on current financial issues and provide students with insights into real-world challenges faced by businesses today. For example, the M&A Rumour Simulation Game and the Crowdfunding Valuation Case immerse students in the complexities of mergers and acquisitions, valuation methods, and fundraising strategies. These workshops bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, preparing students to tackle real business problems in their future careers.
- The Holt Valuation Challenge is an opportunity for students to apply valuation techniques learned in the classroom to real-world companies. By analysing financial data, market trends, and industry dynamics, students gain hands-on experience in valuing companies, a critical skill for roles in finance, investment banking, and corporate strategy.
- The pricing of initial public offerings (IPOs) is a complex process that requires an understanding of market dynamics, investor sentiment, and financial analysis. Through activities focused on pricing next IPOs, students learn how investment bankers and financial analysts assess the value of a company prior to its public listing. This experience enhances their financial acumen and prepares them for careers in investment banking, equity research, and corporate finance.
